Bearing related work is becoming more and more common on modern bikes and no shop, professional or amateur should pass over these tools. The Modular bearing press starts with the press head. Where most manufactures just have a glorified nut we went further by adding a massive thrust bearing. Not a wimpy little plastic washer either, an actual bearing with balls and races. What this means is that the pressing action is almost completely isolated from the torque, creating a super smooth pressing action that requires noticeably less effort. Then we added a pair of 5" machined handles for a little extra leverage. We use a 1/2" acme thread for our press shaft, which means a more robust thread and less turning due to it's coarser thread. It also means we have a single diameter to work with and can size our drifts to this dimension, this means your bearings are more likely to go in straight. At the other end of the press is our new Quick Nut. This simple part allows you to slide the nut over the press shaft to the desired location and then click it into place and press away. No endless turning, no pinch hazard and no wasted time. Be aware, the quick nut does require a few uses to fully break in.

Kit includes a complete handled press head, 12" press shaft, quick nut and the following drifts;

PF30/1.125" headset

24mm bottom bracket drifts, for shimano compatible bottom brackets

22mm bottom bracket drift, single drift for non drive GXP bottom bracket

28.9mm bottom bracket drift, for SRAM DUB

6806 drift for BB30 bottom brackets

1.5" headset drift

centering cone

Additional drifts are on the bearing page and longer press shafts along with service parts are available on the parts page.

We always recommend installing bearings one at a time to ensure they go in straight and don't damage the bearings, components or the tools. Bearing related work is becoming more and more common on modern bikes and no shop, professional or amature should pass over these tools. The Team Issue press ditches the handles in favor of our signature finger spline grip pattern. For those times when things are fitting a little too tight and you don't have the means to correct it, there is a 6mm hex in the top so you can use an allen key for a little extra leverage. So what if we revisit the lowly truing stand, approach it like a piece of metrology equipment instead of something that does little more than hold a wheel? There's so many ways to 'hack' a truing stand, if you're going to make a proper tool why not go all out?

We set out to make a truing stand like no other, something that had a stable base as a foundation for precision and repeatability. In the disc brake era we wanted to be able to straighten rotors while the wheel was in the stand. We wanted a stand that was equally at home truing wheels for a general tune up as it was building wheels worthy of elite competition. We took the extra clearance out of the two pieces of this tool to refine this design to something worthy of Abbey Green.

Made in Bend Oregon.

We get questions regularly for bearing removal tools and they are finally here. It feels like for at least a decade we were installing bearings with a random socket that was close to the right size and removing them with a hammer and a punch. Over the years tools have gotten better and now we have another big step forward in bearing removal.

The removers use an expanding cone that goes behind the bearing and allows you to remove it while tightening the nut. While there is a lot of science that goes into making hubs, spokes and rims. There's a healthy does of art that goes into turning that pile of parts into a wheel that can see thousands of miles of use. Some parts of this process are straight forward and others require more experience.

The Wheel Lacing Stand is another item from the Noble Catalog, a small tool maker from London who started as a wheel building specialist. This tool is pretty basic in purpose, it supports the hub and rim of a wheel independently while you are putting the spokes into it. This adds a good amount of speed to the start of the wheel building process with a 20% time savings! Perhaps the biggest benefit of the lacing stand is the ergonomic benefit. With the parts supported in the stand you no longer have to crouch over the rim on your lap. The boss man was a bit of a wheel guy when he still worked in shops, don't ask us why it took so long.

Spoke wrenches are a highly personal tools. Most people learn to true and build wheels with the same old tool and some stay with it for life, while others realize there's improvements that make their fingers happier at the end of a day of twisting nipples.

We chose to make our wrench about as big as you can while still fitting in between high spoke count wheels. We also put a rib around the ears to help give your fingers a place to rest and cut down on need to squeeze in addition to twisting. While the pretty bit is machined from a solid block of aluminum we weren't quite happy with the durability of that for the tool interface, so we added a hardened steel insert to handle the real work. These bits will be replaceable if need be, though you don't want to swap them around in between jobs.

The Spoke wrench also nests perfectly with a DT style bladed spoke holder for use with aero spokes.

You might be wondering what the SD stands for, well we kind of feel the shape of the new spoke wrench kind of looks like the ears of our beloved Shop Dog, Remi.
