A bare metal face also makes it easier to adjust brakes and can lead to a more solid feel. The tool works by threading a ground shoulder bolt into the brake boss and spinning the cutter around the bolt with a drill or ratchet. It's good for use on all frame materials if spun at appropriate RPM's. The tool is only compatible with post mount brakes.
