With thru axles becoming more and more common the original Crombie tool was due for a makeover. We took the piloting pin and plus sized it to work with the 12mm thru axle fitment that is actually standardized. We make this version as a dual sided tool with two S Group ends, one for thru axle wheels and the other for regular hubs. The regular side has a hole deep enough to hide a skewer nut, it's really the best of both worlds.

The STANDARD version comes with a solid handle while the SUPER LIGHT has a hollow handle to save weight for the traveling mechanic. SL handles are plenty durable for lockrings that are torqued close to the 40 NM spec. If you commonly come across over torque lockrings get the standard handle.

Note, this version of the Crombie tool is not compatible with any Campagnolo wheels.

Beautiful and high quality

"Great tool, does what it says better than anything I’ve used. I just wish it was deep enough to use with lock rings on center lock disc brakes"

— Colin (4/5)

Feels Good

"Haven't had the chance to use it yet but it feels good in the hand. Much better than reaching for the breakerbar, socket and freewheel tool, lol!"

— Don F. (4/5)

Simply the best!

"Simply the best!"

— Corey J. (5/5)

Well built

"I bought this along with the nesting chain whip because of the quality first and foremost. The ability to nest the two is a bonus and the black Friday sale was a double bonus and was the push I needed to finally upgrade since the old chain whip didn't work well with the narrow 12spd cassette."

— Troy K. (5/5)

Work of art

"Beautiful tool! Works great and is a pleasure to hold."

— JOSH L. (5/5)

Crumbier Tool

"Well made tool. Can be used with confidence."

— Bruce P. (5/5)

All I need is you

"A bit heavy but definitely worth the buy for those with QR and thru axle bikes"

— Jorge V. (5/5)

I had the Park Tool

"I had the Park Tool version of this tool but got this one because it had the thru axle drift. The quality is awesome and I have no regrets about buying it but I wish the drift was a little longer."

— Adam T. (4/5)

A tool that makes me happy

"Brilliant piece of kit. Simply perfect tool."

— Thomas S. (5/5)

Perfection

"Definitely the snap on of bike tools. It fits perfectly in the cassette lockring, and with sufficient length. Perhaps, and to satisfy my obsession, a knurling similar to that of the t way would not be bad."

— Angel G. (5/5)

Q&A

How does the crombie tool fit inside the titanium chain whip? The chain whip looks flat and the Crombie looks round at one end and T shaped as well. Does the Crombie tool come apart? Will it stay together then under torque?
All of our chain whips have a round handle with a bushing in the end that is sized to accept the handle of the Crombie tools.
Is the tool made of stainless steel?
All of our Crombie tools are made from martensitic stainless steel.
